Workshops are postponed and will be rescheduled.

Zambra Mora Workshop

ABOUT THE EVENT

Kary WORKSHOP 1 (Zambra Mora technique and history) 10 AM-11:30 AM HST:
Zambra Mora: The Belly Dance Style You've Probably Never Heard Of
Zambra Mora, or Flamenco Fusion, is both a music style and a fusion style of bellydance. It seamlessly blends the beats and rhythms of Arabic music and dance with those of Spanish Flamenco. Come learn about the history of this fun and flirty form, and pick up some new moves!

Requirements: The class will be all-level. Basic combos for beginners, with variations added for advanced dancers to make sure everyone is learning. A 25 yard skirt is encouraged for skirt-work, but a veil or piece of fabric tucked at the hips works too!
WORKSHOP 2 (Zambra Mora short choreo) 11:45 AM - 1:15 PM HST:
Zambra Mora: I Has a Combo, Now What Does I do Wif It?
In this workshop, we will delve deeper into what makes Zambra Mora its own style. We will practice layering hands, arms, chest, hips, and feet. The focus is on smooth, slinky undulations, paired with percussive hip and foot accents. We will also put these moves into a short choreography you can practice after the workshop is over.

Requirements: The class will be all-level. Basic combos for beginners, with variations added for advanced dancers to make sure everyone is learning. A 25 yard skirt is encouraged for skirt-work, but a veil or piece of fabric tucked at the hips works too!
