Workshop Topics:

Sammie’s Workshop: Fall in Love with Improvisation 4-5 PM

In this workshop, you will learn several different techniques for delivering an amazing, seemingly (haha) effortless, improvisational performance. To some, improv is terrifying, to others, a way of life – either way, the first improvised piece is a big step for a belly dancer on their dance journey! Sammie has been improvising belly dance solos for years, and has discovered all the tricks and pitfalls so that you don’t have to! 😉 Come ready to take a leap out of your comfort zone and fall in love with what you can do on the fly!

Dayl and Jacky’s Workshop: Better Together! Continuing Introduction to ATS!!! 5-6 PM

American Tribal Style® belly dance is a celebration of feminine and evocative movements that are rooted in the earth. It has been designed to bring out the best in people of all ages, shapes and sizes. The dance is created through group improvisation using a common vocabulary of movements, steps and cues. ATS® combines movement from folkloric inspired dances to a fusion of modern and ancient dance techniques from North India, the Middle East, Spain and Africa. For more information about ATS®, please visit http://fcbd.com/about/

In this workshop you’ll continue to learn the basic moves on which to build your repertoire! Open to dancers and movers of all ages, genders and abilities. All levels of ATS experience will be catered to!
